EDC Accounting turns THREE!

It’s been three years of working with brilliant clients, tackling audits, tax, payroll twists, community projects and the occasional “interesting” set of books... the kind that make you pause, laugh and then roll up your sleeves. Keeps life entertaining!

I’ve been incredibly lucky to work with such a diverse mix of businesses, schools, clubs and individuals. I genuinely enjoy what I do (yes, even the tricky bits), and I truly appreciate everyone who trusts me to keep things running smoothly, compliant and organised behind the scenes.

Here’s to year four! More growth, more great clients and maybe (just maybe) fewer mystery transactions to unravel… but let’s be honest, they do make the job a bit more fun 😉💛

January 2025 monthly BAS/IAS is due for lodgement and payment by 21 February 2025.

🚨 SCAM ALERT: Don’t Fall for Fake ATO Messages! 🚨

We’ve come across emails like this one claiming to be from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). These types of messages are scams designed to trick you into providing personal information or downloading malicious content.

Here’s how to stay scam-smart:

1️⃣ Check the Sender: The ATO will never email, SMS, or call you asking for personal details or to download a voicemail or attachment.

2️⃣ Don’t Click Links: Never click on links or download attachments in unexpected messages, even if they look legitimate.

3️⃣ Look for Red Flags: Scams often create urgency or fear. For example, they might claim you owe money or are under investigation. The ATO always gives you time to respond to official correspondence.

4️⃣ Keep Your Details Safe: Don’t share your myGov login, tax file number, or bank details in response to unsolicited messages.

5️⃣ Verify Suspicious Contact: If you’re unsure, hang up or ignore the message and contact the ATO directly using their official contact channels.
