Crypto platforms are required to data share your information with the ATO.

If you have bought or sold crypto, you need to report this information in your tax return.

That’s right!

👉 Crypto leaves a digital trail – especially when it connects with the real world, like using exchanges.

👉 Exchanges share information through data-matching, so activity can be traced.

And when you sell or dispose of crypto, a capital gains tax (CGT) event happens. This means you may need to report a capital gain or loss in your tax return.

Please don’t ask to lodge your tax return just yet.
The prefilling data from employers, banks, managed funds and health insurance providers isn’t all available yet.
If lodged now, you might end up paying too little or too much tax and that will make the ATO reassess your return later on.

Notice from NSW Fair Trading

The NSW Fair Trading Commissioner is warning consumers not to deal with Robot My Life IP Holdings Pty Ltd or its director Glenn Yee, trading as Robot My Life, MoeBot and PoolBot.

The online business previously sold robotic household products, including vacuum cleaners, mops and pool cleaners, through the websites:

• robotmylife.com.au

• poolbot.com.au

• moebot.com.au

The websites are no longer active.

Fair Trading has received complaints from consumers, including:

• Goods not delivered or significantly delayed

• Faulty or poor-quality products

• Failure to honour warranties

• Lack of communication from the trader

If you’ve had dealings with this trader and are not satisfied, you’re encouraged to lodge a complaint with NSW Fair Trading.
